Do i have to play the other battlefield games to play battlefield 3?

i really want to pre order battlefield 3 it looks AMAZING! but im afraid ill get lost in the campaign if i havnt played the other ones. Will I be okay?|||Nope, just preorder Battlefield 3!

You dont need to play its predecessor because Battlefield 2 ( 2005 ) didn't have an proper campaign.

So Battlefield 3 will be fresh.|||Let me clear this up for you. Battlefield 2 did not have a single player campaign. It did NOT have a story or campaign of any kind. The single player in Battlefield 2 was the same as the multiplayer in Battlefield 2, except in single player, you played against bots. It was pretty much only used for practice and learning the maps. So you will be fine picking up Battlefield 3.

Also, the Battlefield: Bad Company series has nothing to do with the main Battlefield series. So to 100% clarify, you do not have to have ever player a single Battlefield game to be able to pick up Battlefield 3 and understand it. To put it short, you will be fine!|||The Battlefield series was never known for it's singleplayer and to my knowledge have no ties with each other at all with the exception of Batttlefield: Bad Company 1 %26amp; 2. You'll be fine and not lost in the story as Battlefield 2 never had a campaign with story.|||You will get lost in the campaign of course but most people are going to get it for the multiplayer but if you want play through the whole game and not get confused then yes you might need to get 1 and 2|||I dont know. I have BBC2 and will get Battlefield 3. I only played the multiplayer online of BBC2. as campaign on the battlfield and COD series usually is more boring then online.|||I really wouldn't worry. The Battlefield series were always known for their multiplayer, not so much their story.|||Who cares, single player sucks
